Rome Bowlers win Final Match of Season

The RFA Girls bowling team took on the at Pin O Rama Lanes in Utica Tuesday to take on the Lady Spartans of New Hartford High School. This was Rome’s final match of the season where they defeated New Hartford 9-2. Rome accumulated a total pin count of 3897 as New Hartford finished with a total of 3361pins. Rome’s final TVL record is 10-2 and 12-2 overall.
High game and series for Rome was Mary Kathryn Weyant who led with a game of 244 and high series of 624. Other high rollers for Rome were Rebekah Lubey 602, Emily Matt 528, Olivia Deraway 497, and Isabel Whiting 489.
The Lady Knights will be back in action on Wednesday February 1st, as they will compete in the end of season girls bowling Tri-Valley Tournament at King Pin Lanes in Rome. Besides Rome, schools competing are Camden, Central Valley Academy, New Hartford, Vernon-Verona-Sherrill, Whitesboro and league Champions Thomas R Proctor high school. Tournament start time is set for 3:30 pm following by an awards ceremony.
Rome will also attend the Section 3 tournament on Sunday February 5th, at Strike N Spare lanes in Syracuse. Start time for the tournament is 9 a.m.
